Kathrin Brunner
Nutritionist + yoga facilitator
Introduction
Kathrin Brunner is a Toronto-based nutritionist, health educator and movement teacher. She has a passion for holistic living and loves to share that in the clinic, the classroom and the studio.
In addition to her nutrition counselling practice, she is a faculty member at The Institute of Holistic Nutrition where she has been teaching since 2014. Her courses examine the connections between environmental sustainability and human health as well as the psycho-social aspects of dis-ease and the impacts of chronic stress.
She leads workshops with an emphasis on hands-on learning. From fermentation to soap-making and natural skincare, she is a passionate advocate for living sustainably.
Kathrin began practicing yoga in 2005 and has been teaching since 2009. She’s received over 1000 hours of formal training in yoga asana, restorative yoga and functional movement. She’s also a Pilates instructor and is currently studying mindful approaches to resistance and strength training. Her approach to movement is one that values accessibility and personal exploration. She believes movement is an integral component of our overall health and that mindful forms of movement can increase our capacity for stress resiliency and self-regulation. In her own practice, the ability to self-soothe through breath, movement and meditation has been deeply healing.
